KING STREET RESIDENCE
Location: Charlottetown, PE
Function: Residential, Single-Family, Adaptive Re-use
Building Size: 6,650 SF
Status: Completed 2016

This adaptive re-use of the former “Pop Shoppe” warehouse converted an unoccupied concrete block building into a vibrant home. The client brief was straightforward: utilize the existing warehouse space to store an extensive car collection, and create an urban home on top of the existing concrete block structure.

The residential component is spread over all three levels - entry and parking on the first floor,  a secondary suite and guest area on the second floor, and the primary residence assumes the top floor.  The primary residence's elevated position maximizes views of the harbour to the South and the Basillica to the North, and a rooftop terrace creates a private outdoor space in the city centre.
